Hamish Frasier

It took a while before I dipped my toe in the whisky waters, starting off with shots of Famous Grouse and perhaps the odd whisky-flavoured cocktail. But it’s surprising how quickly the bug bites. When it comes to whisky exploration, enthusiasm and learning, it has bitten me quickly and it’s bitten me hard.

I thought I was down the darkest of whisky rabbit holes alone. To my utter delight, the Dramface community is shining a light over my shoulder. I feel like, even today, the journey has just begun. It’s great to find myself on this journey with you.

My Biggest Surprises

Being a part of Dramface has proven to be a fulfilling thing. Not only through writing my own pieces and contributing to other reviews, but also getting to know other writer’s personalities through their opinions and articles.

The Truth About Glendronach

Reading your reaction and questions was a fantastic part of working on this piece and I hope that Dramface has helped iron out some ambiguities that were festering for some time. I was honoured to be trusted with such a hot topic! We feel there’s more to be explored here. Watch this space.

From Ukraine With Love

This Dallas Mhor article was poignant and powerful. Reading the experiences from Anatoliy and hearing about the war in Ukraine has put a lot of my own life and whisky ‘challenges’ into context this year. This was a touching piece. It helped me reflect that there’s a lot I take for granted every day.

The Ardnamurchan Way

Dougie Crystal has a gift. He has such an incredible way of writing. It’s difficult to fathom how he does it. It’s inspiring. This Ardnamurchan Way piece offered a vivid view of the distillery and experience for those of us who can’t get there (yet!). A terrific thing to read along to as I sipped the 1st release of their Ardnamurchan Cask Strength.
