Auchentoshan Unveils New Look and 12yo Double Cask

The new Auchentoshan 12

Auchentoshan unveils contemporary packaging and new 12-Year-Old Double Cask

Reflecting Auchentoshan’s upbeat and fearless character, the refreshed packaging signals a new chapter for the Scottish Lowland icon, designed to invite new whisky drinkers into the world of single malt, while deepening engagement with seasoned fans.

The re-energised look features a layered logo and a three-stills icon in a shimmering copper foil finish - a nod to the unique triple distillation that defines Auchentoshan’s signature smoothness. Smart touches include a pronunciation guide, a clear age statement and detailed cask information to help demystify single malt for those new to the spirit.

Kirsteen Beeston, senior global marketing ector, Scotch and Irish, at Suntory Global Spirits says: "As the Scotch whisky category continues to evolve, we've reimagined Auchentoshan to reflect a modern identity, while staying true to its roots. The packaging has been designed to attract new and existing consumers by establishing a more distinctive brand identity, enhancing their overall experience. This new look, and the spirit itself, has been crafted to stand out, educate and, most importantly, be enjoyed responsibly."

In line with Auchentoshan’s commitment to environmental responsibility, the new packaging is crafted using sustainable materials to reduce overall impact. Packaging improvements have led to a 16.9% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per bottle by significantly reducing the glass weight. Additionally, the label uses single-material, recycled content, FSC certified paper with recyclable-friendly print effects.

The new 12-Year-Old Double Cask is a lively expression crafted to replace the existing 12-Year-Old. Double-matured in a combination of ex-bourbon American oak and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, this triple distilled whisky is enriched by a subtly fruity essence, with its 12-year maturation adding depth of flavour. It offers an elevated taste experience, including a rich and refined flavour profile of sweet pastry and lemon zest, mixed with robust oakwood and hints of tangerine and lime, ending on a sharp ginger finish.

Dr Calum Fraser, Master Blender, Auchentoshan, says: “This expression reflects the beauty of the triple distillation process. It allows the flavours to shine through early in maturation, which is particularly exciting for a 12-Year-Old. It’s smooth, fruity, and immensely drinkable - perfect for both existing whisky enthusiasts and those newly curious about single malts.”

Whether it's the striking new bottle or the beautifully balanced spirit inside, Auchentoshan is making it easier, and more exciting, than ever to discover single malt Scotch whisky.

Bottled at 40% ABV, the new 12-Year-Old Double Cask is available for a RRP of £38 GBP.

The new packaging and 12-Year-Old Double Cask will be released across markets from October through to 2026..
