Glasgow’s Clydeside Distillery Unveils New Whisky Bar

Clydeside Distillery Celebrates Whisky Bar Opening

The Clydeside Distillery, Glasgow’s first dedicated single malt whisky distillery in over a century, has announced the opening of its new whisky bar.

First touted late last year, the elegant and relaxed bar is the result of a refurbishment of the distillery’s cafe and boasts an extensive selection of drams, including signatures like Stobcross, Napier and the exclusive Voyager Club bottling. The bar menu also features beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks, hot beverages and light bites.

Naturally whisky is where the focus lies, and guests will be invited to savour neat serves, curated whisky flights and inventive cocktails. The bar is open to both Clydeside whisky tour guests and the general public, making it a versatile hotspot in a square mile that includes the OVO Hydro and SECC.

“Our new whisky bar is a warm, inviting space where visitors can explore our classic Lowland style whiskies and exclusive releases, as well as drams from other regions of Scotland,” said Visitor Centre Manager Bridgeen Mullen. “We’re delighted to share this news with Glasgow and beyond.”

The Clydeside whisky selection

Nestled on the historic Queen’s Dock by the River Clyde, just a short stroll from the city centre, the Clydeside Distillery has been a popular visitor attraction since production began in 2017. The bar enhances the distillery’s appeal as a must-visit destination, complementing its specialist whisky shop and interactive tours. Opening hours are 11am until 5.30pm, seven days per week.

The distillery’s Visitor Experience, within which the bar sits, is available for private hire from 7pm and is perfect for receptions and dinners. Events can commence with welcome drinks in the bar, adding a touch of sophistication, while the Clydeside’s Voyager Club offers members perks such as exclusive whisky releases, event invites and special discounts.

Details of ticketed events to celebrate the whisky bar’s opening will be announced in due course. For now, the Clydeside Distillery invites all to raise a glass to its newest gem.
