Virginia Distillery Co. announces the latest release in The Brewer’s Coalition
The Brewer’s Coalition is a limited-edition series of American Single Malt whiskies finished in casks from celebrated breweries across the country. The newest addition, Central Waters Brewing Co. Black Gold Imperial Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt, showcases the marriage of Virginia Distillery Co.’s boldly expressive whisky with the rich character of Wisconsin’s highly regarded Central Waters Brewing Co. Black Gold Imperial Stout.
Just twelve barrels were sourced for this special release, which was first aged in premium ex-bourbon barrels for over five years before being finished in Central Waters’ Black Gold Imperial Stout barrels. The result is a whisky that captures the depth and intensity of both partners’ crafts. Salted caramel, bright hops, and vanilla cream soda unfold across the palate, leading to a balanced and indulgent finish. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), this release highlights the innovative spirit of The Brewer’s Coalition while celebrating Central Waters Brewing Co.’s respected place in Wisconsin’s craft brewing community. The brewery’s own release of Black Gold sold out within hours, underscoring the enthusiasm surrounding this sought-after stout and its influence on the collaboration.
