Tamdhu launches Cigar Malt II

Tamdhu Cigar Mate II bottle

Tamdhu Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky has announced the release of Cigar Malt II - the second exclusive bottling in an already award-winning series that celebrates an age-old pairing.

Cigar Malt II is characterised by Tamdhu's dedication to full maturation in the finest first fill European Oak Oloroso Sherry Casks. These casks, like each leaf in a cigar, contribute to the Cigar Malt's distinctive natural colour and robust flavour - complementing the profile of the world’s best cigars.

Bottled unchillfiltered and at 53.8% ABV, the whisky mimics the spice, aroma, and mouthfeel of aged tobacco leaves, resulting in a richness of texture and strength of flavour.

It has a balanced, creamy nose giving way to crystallised ginger, rich golden syrup, and hints of sherry oak. Winter fruits soaked in sherry complement the opulent, thick mouthfeel, which is followed by a rich malt loaf and vanilla cream. A long, lingering, and rewarding finish brings an unmistakable hint of sherry, with honeyed apricots and toasted nuts.

Sandy McIntyre, Tamdhu Distillery Manager, said, "After the success of our debut Cigar Malt, we are delighted to announce the second expression in the series. This latest release honours the age-old cigar and whisky pairing, and boasts a robust flavour profile designed to stand up to the finest cigars and complement their rich aroma. It’s the perfect representation of our dedication to full-term sherry cask maturation.”

Only 1,000 cases of Tamdhu Cigar Malt No II will be available to purchase via www.tamdhu.com and specialist retailers in the UK, USA, Germany, Netherlands, France, Taiwan, China, Korea, and Australia. RRP £195.99 (53.8% ABV) per bottle.
