Edition Four, October 2025
The Dramface Top 40
We ask our community which Scotch distilleries they would choose as their favourites.
Voting for just one is hard. So what if you could choose ten? This Top 40 is produced by those votes.
It is a real-time, live poll. You can keep your votes up to date, changing your mind is welcomed, anytime.
This is the most recent snapshot. We’ll take the next at 1,000 new votes or submission updates.
The latest data was collected in a snapshot on 30th September from 1,036 respondents.
The bracketed data was collected on May 6th, 2024 from 1,511 respondents, February 2024 from 1,050 respondents. Initial data was harvested in March of 2023 for an Aqvavitae vPub topic; 707 respondents replied. We will continue to take new snapshot tracking a ‘moving‘ most-recent 1,000 respondents.
The Top 10 historical positions are listed as comma-separated numbers, with the most recent position listed first.

#1
Springbank
↔️ Held
650 | 62.7% (992 | 65.7%) J&A Mitchell
A slight erosion in vote share doesn’t dent the seemingly unshakeable Springbank. Despite competition, the King of Campbeltown holds firm with 100+ votes over second spot.

🔻 Fast faller 3+ | 🌟 New Entry
#2
Ardnamurchan
⭐️ ⬆️ +2
532 | 45.8% (692 | 45.8%) Adelphi
After a slide, the Adelphi project fights back to reclaim second place. Rock solid releases, collaborative fun and balanced pricing has whisky fans itching for more.
#3
Bruichladdich
↔️ Held
463 | 44.7% (697 | 46.1%) Remy Cointreau
Never far from the top, the Islay distillery is maturing in surprising ways as it goes from strength to strength. We’re enjoying the evolution.
#4
Glengyle
⭐️ ⬆️ +2
428 | 41.3% (622 | 41.2%) J&A Mitchell
After proving ‘sticky’ in 6th, a jump of two sees the now 21-year-old phoenix distillery close in on a Top 3 spot. Despite part-time hours, it’s loved.
#5
Bunnahabhain
🔻 –3
703 | 40.6% (703 | 46.5%) CVH Spirits
As some climb, others fall. It’s difficult to pinpoint why there’s a drop here, but easy to understand why it stays in the Top 5, for most.

#6
Lochranza
⬇️ –1
388 | 37.5% (673 | 44.5% ) Isle of Arran
While Lochranza is holding firm in the mid-Top 10, there’s a concerning slip in the vote ratio. The much loved Islander has more competition than ever. Still epic.
#7
Glen Scotia
↔️ Held
359 | 34.7% (517 | 34.2% ) LLG
Holding firm - with some daylight appearing between the numbers too - suggesting Campbeltown’s ‘other distillery’ continues its renaissance. Great to witness.
#8
Benromach
⬆️ +1
302 | 29.2% (327 | 31%) Gordon & MacPhail
Not only holding, but climbing. Benromach continue to keep us entertained with more innovative, integrity releases and fair pricing. Could this give them confidence in a fully natural strategy?
#9
Kilchoman
⭐️ ⭐️ ⬆️ +4
426 | 25.8% (291 | 27.7%) Kilchoman
As the range settles and develops, more whisky lovers are making the move to a more refined and mature Kilchoman. It bursts into the Top 10 - where many argued it should’ve been all along.
#10
Tobermory
⬇️ –2
251 | 24.2% (342 | 32.4%) CVH Spirits
A slip for Tobermory also marks a slide for each of the CVH Spirits distilleries. The Dramface consensus is that we don’t detect a slip in quality. Maybe we’re missing ‘faces’. Personality and people matter. Still, a deserved Top 10 whisky maker.
