Dornoch Distillery undertakes pre-planning consultation

Dornoch Distillery plan 3D render

The Thompson Bros are inviting public feedback on their Sutherland distillery plans

Dornoch Distillery has outgrown current operations in the old fire station at Castle Close and the old slaters yard at Station Square.

This growth has been driven by a strong international presence, along with excellent domestic sales.

The distillery has therefore been exploring the possibility of expanding distilling operations on land 40 m southwest of Dornoch Health Centre, which is owned by the Dornoch Area Community Interest Company (currently the gasworks building, now owned by the distillery, and the hinterland south of the community car park).

Dornoch distillery proposes converting the dilapidated gasworks building into a distillery visitor centre as well as building a new distillery and warehousing which would be positioned to the south of the tree line below the Gunns’ yard.

The distillery would like to invite members of the community to join us in the Dornoch Hub on the following dates to review the plans and provide feedback. Simon and Phil Thompson will be in attendance during each session to take questions.
