Loch Lomond The Open Edition 2024
Hamish manages to (almost) avoid a smattering of golfing analogies as he uncorks Loch Lomond’s 2024, “The Open” release. It’s on the Chardonnay theme too; but not the yeast this time.
Glasgow 1770 Golden Beer Cask
Ramsay only really does two drinks; whisky and beer. This one should be right up his street, a golden beer finished whisky form Glasgow Distillery, cask strength and £64 too.
Benromach Cask Strength 2013
Do the right thing, by all means. Support, don’t judge. Because sometimes being a patient spendthrift, far away from a whisky shop, still uncovers things to reassure you that good stuff is still out there.
Ledaig 10yo vs Ledaig 10yo
Celebrating batch variation and reminding us that darker does not mean better, even if it does in this case. Tav tucks in to a crowd pleasing Ledaig 10yo comparison.
Glencadam 21yo
Saving a special bottle for a quiet moment, Ramsay swims in a dusty and now discontinued Glencadam 21yo while wondering if it’s worth reviewing hard-to-find bottles. We must Tav! We must!
Port Askaig Cask Strength
A team review is required around a new take on Elixir’s Port Askaig series and their first Cask Strength Small Batch. Wally leads with a deep dive into why we’re not drinking enough. Apparently.
Nc’Nean Single Malts Duo
In a Dramface first, we visit Nc’Nean. Two malts showcasing what they’re up to in sustainability and organic processes. Ramsay wonders if he’s missed anything, with a little help form Drummond.
Indri Drú Cask Strength
Like so many of us, Ramsay needed a little convincing that Indian whisky can exceed expectation. Nothing like some Indri blind tasting to set things straight then eh, Tav?
Glenfiddich 12yo, 15yo & 18yo
Always on the hunt for a bargain, Ramsay discovers the full Glenfiddich age-stated core range on offer, but he keeps his canny head on and plumps for the (also discounted) mini-selection pack instead. Blunderous or inspired?
Cadenhead’s Seven Stars 30yo
How much would you expect to pay for 30 year old whisky in 2023? Ramsay was pleasantly surprised when it came to this Cadenhead’s value prospect, but he wobbled before opening it… for our pleasure.
Kilkerran 16yo 2023
A love affair with Campbeltown Whiskies, gone cold, warms again for Ramsay with a lucky find of his beloved Kilkerran 16yo. Is this 2023 recipe departure enough to reignite the romance?
Edradour 12yo Cask Strength
Never having previously connected with Edradour, Ramsay tackles their brand-new batch one release of their Cask Strength, with pleasant results.
Port Askaig 100 Proof
It’s tricky to find a pour you’ll love when you’re out and about, as Ramsay discovers while he searches his hometown bars for something that’ll pique his curiosity. Cask strength Caol Ila(?) That’ll do nicely.
Glencadam Reserva Andalucia & PX
Sherry depth is rare in budget bottlings, so while Ramsay is searching for some light ABV summer sippers he dodges the overpriced Glencadam 18yo in favour of two of their budget-friendly NAS sherry finished expressions, with surprising results.
The Cheshire
It’s impossible to keep up with 49 new distilleries producing malt in England since 2006, so Ramsay takes stock while checking out his new ‘local’ distillery, Weetwood and The Cheshire.
Glencadam 18yo
Ramsay stumbles upon some of the last remaining fairly-priced, decent age stated retail malt in the UK, and succumbs. Luckily, it’s a well-aged and sublime Highlander form Glencadam.
Noble Rebel Trio
After a sample packaging disaster, Arthur has another attempt at the new range of blended malts form Loch Lomond Group; Noble Rebel, with help from Gallie, Ramsay and Wally.
Kilkerran 8yo Cask Strength 2023
Ramsay throws some cheeky auction bids towards replacing his fast-disappearing bourbon cask 2023 Kilkerran and is shocked by the results.

A Dramface Collective Mega-review, an ode to the Springbank 15yo
