It’s unlike Dramface to be so on the ball as this Loch Lomond was just released this week. It seems Wally pulled this one forward for an interesting reason; he wanted to know what colour it was.

Drawn by that comforting and familiar dumpy Balcones livery he loves, Ogilvie ends up buying something that he’d never have otherwise considered. In fact, something that can’t ever be considered whiskey.

It’s tricky to find a pour you’ll love when you’re out and about, as Ramsay discovers while he searches his hometown bars for something that’ll pique his curiosity. Cask strength Caol Ila(?) That’ll do nicely.

Seeing too many shiny things at once is too much for Wally. Visiting his favourite spot to buy too many whiskies, he snags a UK exclusive Benromach with the prettiest of hues, only to wish he’d stuck to his original mission.

An experimental camper van trip around Scotland’s west coast affords Dougie the chance to get to know an excellent release from Ardnamurchan. It also affords us the chance to travel with him. Come for the score, get hooked by the words, stay for the images. Wow.

Trash or treasure? Well, that depends hugely on the whisky, but also very much upon who we are and what we like. This is certainly Broddy’s trash, so is it Wally’s treasure? Strap in.

It’s impossible to keep up with 49 new distilleries producing malt in England since 2006, so Ramsay takes stock while checking out his new ‘local’ distillery, Weetwood and The Cheshire.

Earie enjoys a delicious indie Glenglassaugh that’s right up his street on flavour and presentation while pondering why the recent official releases chose to go all ChatGPT.

Value propositions are becoming harder to find, so let it be known that in Auld Doog’s opinion this 2023 The Ileach Cask Strength whisky, if you fancy a fairly priced smoker of an evening, delivers solid bang for buck.
