A jack-of-all trades who spends a lot of time writing and editing, I have long been nerdy about food and drink. However, whisky was never on my radar—until I found myself with time on my hands over lockdown. A fall down the Whiskytube rabbit hole ensued, and here we are!

It’s an honour to be part of Dramface’s editorial and news team and submit occasional articles too. Reading everyone’s work, I have fun learning loads about whisky history, chemistry, industry news and trends. Most of all, I enjoy being part of such a lovely bunch. Yeghes da!

One of the best things about Dramface is how it brings together people with so many different backgrounds and interests (other than whisky, of course). This piece is one of my favourites on the site because it comes at you with something totally unexpected: the combination of whisky with planning laws and heraldry! It also contains a historical deep dive, something I always enjoy.

The Suffixial Glenlivet

Speaking of historical deep dives: may I humbly direct you towards this piece on ‘the suffixial Glenlivet’? Not only was it fascinating to research, but it sparked much interesting conversation (including criticism) on various platforms. It’s amazing to have people engaging with your work, and I have been inspired to explore more mysterious whisky phenomena!

Among the myriad writing styles represented on Dramface, I especially enjoy Tyree’s chemistry-focused takes—it’s an area I’m keen to learn more about. I also appreciate his comparisons of many expressions of the same whisky, as I find them particularly educational as a consumer. We also seem to have similar tastes: Clynelish, Ben Nevis, Springbank…yum!
